Joined the Advisory Board for Imperial’s MSc in Business Analytics

Delighted to have officially joined the Advisory Board for Imperial College‘s MSc in Business Analytics at the Business School. This is the first year the MSc has been running and the progress so far has been phenomenal. The course is heavily subscribed by candidates from around the globe and the current class has a wonderful diversity of students and experience.

I attended the most recent Board meeting in March and was impressed with the content and ambition of the course. We are working hard to improve the course for the next class and strongly believe the course will be a world leader in delivering data science and business analytics over the years to come. Excited to be a part of this!

Imperial College London interviewed me

Last Summer Imperial College London sent a delegation led by Professor David Gann, Vice President and Head of Development & Innovation, to San Francisco and Silicon Valley.

During their trip I invited them to the offices at Airbnb to see how we thought about innovation – especially from the point of view of Data Science – and also for a catchup. Although I only studied at Imperial College for 1 year between 2005 and 2006, I have a great affinity for the university.

As part of the visit to the office, I was invited to contribute an interview for their alumni pages to hopefully get more of their current students thinking about a life in San Francisco and the tech startup scene. You can read the full transcript here.

Imperial College London opens new Data Science Institute

Congratulations to my former university Imperial College London (ICL) for opening the UK’s premier Data Science Institute. I completed an MSc in Mathematical Finance at ICL in 2005-2006 and very much chose the university then because of its forward looking and proximity to the city’s financial heartbeat.

Great to see ICL is continuing its tradition of innovating and embracing new paradigms of learning. Am in no doubt this institute will go on to be one of the leading centres for data science in Europe.
